Parent's Information
In many respects, Shotton Hall School is a traditional school. We believe in the traditional values of school uniform, worn with pride, and we believe in the old-fashioned, but still entirely relevant virtue, of manners. "Courtesy and Respect Characterise the Behaviour of all at Shotton Hall School" is the lead statement in our Code of Conduct and is central to everything we say and do.
Indeed, a copy of our code of conduct is included in the student planner and can also be found in every classroom and corridor in the school.
We pride ourselves on the behaviour of our students when in or out of school and it is a constant source of pride to receive totally unsolicited letters from members of the public praising our students for their appearance and behaviour.
A visit to Sunderland University by our Year 7 students brought one such letter from a visitor to the University who was astounded by their "exemplary behaviour and their wonderfully smart appearance."
Another visitor to the National Festival for Musical Youth which was held at the school said, "I was extremely impressed by the efficiency and organisation of the day but the thing that struck me most was the unforced charm of the pupils."
