In this section results from the surveys that you take part in are placed for you to read, each survey has a summary which is listed below.

Outcomes;
76% of students participate in exercise outside of school
73% of students would be interested in our walk a mile a day scheme
Diet is not quite as healthy as we would hope, with a number of students needing to improve their portions of fruit and vegetables per day and drinking more water
Students would like to see more options available at lunch time the most popular suggestions is soup with 78% saying it would be a good idea.


Future action;
Advertisements/ posters to recommend drinking more water/ eating 5 a day and the health benefits attached.
Calculate a mile lap around the school and display route for student to walk around

84% of students believe it is important that they have their say in matters that affect them
74% believe the school encourages students to lead a healthy lifestyle
91% of students feel safe
95% of students believe they learn lots in lessons
93% know how well they are doing in school
96% of students agree that staff explain how students can improve their work
96% agree that school helps students prepare for the future


Future action;
We have recently been awarded Healthy schools Status – students need to be made aware of this fact and the options they have available to lead a healthier lifestyle
While 9% is a relatively small proportion, we need to know the reasons why some students don’t feel safe in school. This will be tackled using the anti bullying convention and further questionnaire to establish when and why they feel unsafe

96% of students know and understand the new school marking policy
95% believe the new system with particular focus e.b.i. have helped them to improve their work
78% believe the marking policy is helping them to progress


Future actions;
Maintain current marking policy throughout the school

Outcomes;
81% of students tried new foods for the first time
78% would try some of those new foods again outside of school
91% of year 7 students recommended that we have the Multicultural Day with the new year 7’s in September


Future actions;
The day was a huge success at broadening student’s views on different countries, cultures and the foods they eat.
The day will be held for the next year 7 group at the start of school year.
Students made comments that they would of liked to find out more about Thailand, Australia and China so we hope to broaden the countries we cover during the day.

Outcomes;
95% enjoyed their trip and would recommend it to others
Many students made new friends and met others they hadn’t before
All would like to go on other residential trips


Future actions;
The two residential trips were a huge success and hopefully the current year 7 will be able to raise similar funds and apply for grants to be able to go when they are in year 8.
Some of the activities were slightly less popular with students so we would hope to change them for something that more students would enjoy.

Almost all students felt prepared for their exam
71% attended revision classes
86% of students would rate their English teacher as good or better
87% of students are confident they performed well in the exam and will get a C or above


Future actions;
Maintain current revision program both in lessons and in revision classes at lunchtime, after school and during school holidays.
